Satisfying the whole family by choosing a destination for the desired vacation is never easy. But we agreed on one thing: spending the holidays on an Italian beach, which also offered the possibility of doing various activities that could also meet the needs of the man and kids.
While I was surfing online between different offers and places, one city among many, took my attention. It is Lignano Sabbiadoro. The name fascinated me: “Sabbiadoro”, I imagined broad beaches with golden fine sand and colored sunumbrellas, under which you can spend undisturbed hours in the sun.
Lignano is located in north eastern Italy, on the Adriatic coast, and is close to Trieste, Udine and Venice.
Ideal if you want to combine a cultural vacation with a beach vacation.
It is also connected to other places surrounded by nature thanks to the many bike paths.
After a family reunion, the vote was unanimous: we are all going to Lignano!
After reviewing all of the services offered by the city (I must say they are many), we booked the hotel, as well as some bike and boat trips. We couldn't wait to be on vacation!
We stayed in a very nice 3 star hotel that was right on the beach. I have to say starting the day by opening the balcony door and having the sea in front of you, gives an extra boost.
The hotel also has a sun terrace and a pool on the eighth floor with a brand new wellness area ... You can imagine the peace and relaxation after a day at the beach!
If I should rate this city, I would surely give it an A!
Peace and quiet where it is needed, many supermarkets, many facilities and games for children, amusement parks, wide and clean beach, excellent service and clean sea, so much that it has been awarded the blue flag for several years.
But Lignano is not just Sabbiadoro, that's the name of the municipality.
There are three different zones: Riviera, Pineta and Sabbiadoro. Each sector is characterized by a different type of urbanization; it's practical as if they were three different delimited cities.
The pedestrian area of ​​Sabbiadoro is full of life, with many restaurants, bars and shops where you can shop. But there are also many sporting, cultural and musical events that alternate from month to month so that the evenings are always different and fun. Lignano Pineta, smaller, but also full of nice shops where you can shop, renowned also for its night clubs, as well as for its green lung: the park dedicated to the famous American writer Ernest Hemingway and then Lignano Riviera, for those looking for tranquillity with its residential villas, the docks and the splendid zoo park.
No extra activities are missing: excursions by boat in the nearby fishing village of Marano, renting bicycles to move from one end to the other of Lignano, the zoo Puntaverde, the Aquasplash water park, themed amusement parks for the little ones, like the junior park.
A week in Lignano is almost not enough to try out all the activities that are available.
I highly recommend staying in this wonderful city, which offers many services and leisure options!
